Hi @tanjiro.127! I appreciate you for watching! I couldn't agree more, Apple Photos in my opinion is great for organization, but limited with editing options. It sounds like you're shooting on your iPhone and then syncing to your Mac with Apple Photos and then using Lightroom? Even with iOS 18 beta right now, doesn't seem to be much added for editing and the "clean up" tool may be limited to iPhone 15 Pro models. I don't do a ton of editing on my iPhone or iPad. All editing is done on my Mac using CaptureOne. The other annoying part is it seems that every company now has a subscription based service for any of their software, so the price can add up quickly. As far as a workflow, I agree that it can be quite cumbersome. Your best bet is to take photos with your iPhone, let them sync to Apple Photos to your Mac, and then "right click" on the photos you want to edit and choose "Edit with Adobe Lightroom". When you do this, it often keeps the originals and then just adds the edited version into Apple Photos. Lightroom is really designed as a replacement for Apple Photos. It's a one-stop shop for organization in addition to eating. No different than Capture One and other software. Other food for thought would be to use a different app that is just for editing and continue to use Apple Photos for organization and syncing. I hear ya @karlranile4601, it's not perfect and maybe there will be some improvements in macOS 15. I will say that if I have multiple windows open in Safari and I minimize any of them, then get clustered in the stage manager and I can use keyboard shortcut to cycle through them. (command + ~) Also if I swipe up on my Mac trackpad and do Mission Control, it does show all of my minimized windows individually. It does take some time getting used to though. Hi @SatelliteGalaxy, Are you referring to an iCloud backup? Are the movies downloaded ones from Apple iTunes Store? That would make sense that they are not backed up as they are always available to you. Once you purchase any content from Apple (music, movies, apps), they are always associated to your Apple ID account. Hi @raquelynserrano7502, Yes you should be able to change your iCloud email address to a gmail as long as your gmail is not already an Apple ID. Apple updated the website and doesn’t show that box for the standalone Apple ID option! They moved it to the “Email & Phone numbers” section. When you select that, you will see a little circle with a minus sign next the email. Click that and it will give you the option to change the Apple ID email address. THANK YOU so much for watching! Thanks @tpmacleod, I hear ya...there were for sure features that did not come to the new versions of software. I am not aware of any ways to transfer any of those templates from older iPhoto to newer Apple Photos. I would image the architecture of the software is completely different and wouldn't be compatible. There's always options to use iMovie or different software to take it to the next level! I don't know why Apple does the whole timing restriction. And it seems there is a slight difference between a primary and secondary iCloud alias email address. Hi @garyfrancis6193, That's not uncommon for that message to pop up. Have you looked at your settings to see what is actually taking up the space? Sometimes it's not even photos or apps. Many times it's text messages. I do have a newer video related to looking at storage options that may be helpful. @@Learnwithjoel I phoned Apple who directed me to look at iPad storage as I rarely use my old iPhone 6 that was given to me in 2018. The iPad can’t send text messages. A lot of space was taken up by dara stored by browsers like Brave or Edge. The iPad I bught in Canada in 2018 is an iPad 6 with 32 Gb memory whivh even then .I considered small but I didn’t know anything about iPads and thought it was just a toy. Instead I use it every day all day to the exclusion of everything else. I cleared memory space frin 31 Gb used out of 32Gb memory doem yo 25Gb used thus freeing up 7 Gb and still get a message iCloud is almost full not syncing maps and health data but maps still work and there is no health data. I think it’s a scam to get me to rent more iCloud space which I can’t. Exactly a year ago I found I couldn’t buy anything online with my ew bank redit card to replace the old one that had expired. I had bought a couple of things online with the old credit card maybe three years ago but I’m a foreigner in South Korea so banks only give credit cards with a two year limit that can be renewed. I had had credit cards with the same bank since 2006 that are automatically paid off every month. So when my old credit card expired the bank automatically sent mr anew one. However thr iPhone or iPad would not store the new credit card data. Apple and my bank could never find out why. My bank said there was nothing wrong with my credit cad but gave me another one. It didn’t work either so strangely I have two active credit cards from the same bank. Apple says it’s not their fault it must be the bank questioning my credit which is absolutely impeccable. The total on the card is paid off every month so I pay no interest on the credit card. The bank says there is absolutely nothing wrong with the credit card. Therefore I can’t pay for anything online including extra iCloud storage. I instead bought a Sandisc flip USB thumb drive with lightning port connector and stsndard USB connector andvtransferred all 1258;photos on the iPsd= Gb to that . I then bought a Lenovo M9 mini tsblrt with 64Gb ROM and today installing a one terabyte mini SD card in the lenovo to transfer any new photos I make with iPhone. I can then eliminate halfvthe photos on the iPad that I rarely look at. I already deleted 300 photos. The iPad and iCloud will not be my main storage devices for photos or files. I can tell you a kind of ghost story about that where I had four chapters of a book I had written on the iPad in pages. They disappeared in Jan 2021. Apple couldn’t find them. The book is about mistranslations of ancient languages in the Bible especially the story of Moses but not really a religious book. Language has been my profession as a university lecturer for over 30 years. The chaoters had vanished . There was no printed copy. Then one morning in 2022 I got a phone call. They guy on the phone did not introduce himslf. He just said he could help me retrieve the missing chapters. I thought he was from Apple. He told me to go to a certain site on my old laptop then turn on the camera on the iPhone, point it at the laptop screen so he could direct me where to click and enter the file names of the book chapters. I did and they came back like magic onto the laptop. I don’t remember the conversation after that and hung up. Next day all four chapters of the book reappeared on the iPad. I hadn’t transferred them from the laptop. I phoned Apple Korea to tell the guy I had spoken to the files mysteriously reappeared on the iPad. Apple Korea told me no such person existed as no one there spoke English. I phoned Apple Philippines that has English service. They said no one at Apple would phone me a year after the files were lost and they had never head of that way of retrieving lost files from iCloud. So who called? Only Apple and I knew the files were missing. What hacker would be motivated more than a year later to phone me to retrieve my lost files Apple couldn’t find? No one ha an answer and in fact think I’m crazy but it happened. I have never finished writing the book. So those are some mysteries with Apple and why I can’t rent more iCloud space like they are pressuring me to do. Unless your photos or files are on some permanent storage they can be lost and never retrieved.
